Pandora – Giving You What We Want To

This is one reason why Pandora’s, $P, business model does not work. There are other parts. Yesterday I created a new Station, Tori Amos (don’t judge me now!). It immediately played a Tori song and then into Jewel, Sarah McLachlan, Vanessa Carleton, Avril Lavigne and on. Plenty of thumbs ups. It tossed in some stuff I did not want so I gave those the thumbs down. Then I noticed that after about 20 songs I still had not heard another Tori Amos. But I had heard 5 more Avril Lavigne and Sarah McLachlan songs. then it tried to tell me teh Verve was like Tori, but would not let me thumbs down it and move on. I had picked too many I guess. From there it went heywire. ColdPlay, The Beatles. Before it got to Metallica I shut it down and sent this e-mail to customer service,

This morning I got the reply below from Martha, basically telling me we play for you what we feel like playing.
