Dragonfly Capital Views – The First 30 Days

We now have a bit over 20 trades are in the books since starting September 14, and it has been a good start. The results are below. The options trades have been predominately earnings related thus far and the technical sets ups have played out almost perfectly, except for JP Morgan Wednesday night. The pattern and resistance breakout plays have been a bit more mixed but positive. Many have been stopped out quickly as the market has not been kind to breakout plays. You may notice a change to the format. When I last put out an update I got a lot of questions about sizes of trades and such so I instituted a Model $100,000 Portfolio with rules for position sizes which you can read in the inset to answer some of those questions up front.
Each of these trades was given to premium users with detailed triggers, profit points, stops and adjustments along with full analysis of why the trade was interesting from a technical perspective. You may have seen a piece of the analysis from some of my blog posts. The results are my own, and I have to say one or two would have been better had held to my targets and stops religiously. But that is trading. I am providing the idea and the plan and it is up to you (or me in this case) to execute it and be comfortable with the risk management. I also passed on many trades. Many triggered and ran successfully, some that just did not trigger, and others that failed. There are always plenty of ideas so that something can look good to trade. Come join us!
