Ring the Register

Formerly known as National Cash Register, NCR, $NCR, could not be a more boring company. But look at the trend in the stock. Lower left to upper right since breaking a consolidation zone in November last year. Stocks like these often leave you no entry point if you are a technical trader. But events can provide that entry. And the earnings report last week did just that for NCR. This stock has found support at the rising 100 day Simple Moving Average (SMA) during its rise. Friday it fell

to that level on a strong red candle. Not a buy signal, but the following Monday was a potential reversal candle. This one could go by many names: Doji, Doji Star, Spinning Top. Each needs to be confirmed by a move higher the following day, and that is what it gave on Tuesday. This is your opportunity to get into this name. You might use 35 as a stop, what would be a new lower low, to start with.
