The Guys Backwoods Fishing Trip in Montana
Now that you have the trip set for the wife and kids, it is time to take care of the annual boys week fly fishing from a cabin in the backwoods of Montana. No running water or electricity. Just nature. Or at least that is what she thinks. Taking your laptop to your man cave you now get on the Southwest Airlines (ticker:$LUV) site and search for flights to Vegas.
LUV has technically been in a downtrend since November. The past week it went as far as retracing 76.4% of the move higher from July to November 2010, before bouncing higher. If it can get over the 61.8% Fibonacci at 11.88 and then the 50 day Simple Moving Average then it stands a chance higher. The rising Relative Strength Index (RSI) and Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator that is about to cross positive support this. But the SMA’s are sloping down and that is not a good sign for higher prices. It may be hard to watch but best to wait for confirmation above the the 50 day SMA or even 12.34 before getting long. That’s okay though since all you want is a flight and you want ot look like you were roughing it when you get home. Next you need a place to stay and Wynn’s (ticker:$WYNN) fits the bill perfectly.
WYNN has been in a solid uptrending channel for almost a year with rising trendline resistance and support roughly at the 50 day SMA. The last several days it has been building a bull flag , preparing to continue higher. The RSI is working off a technically overbought condition and the MACD is waning. Wait for the flag to resolve before entering. This could see support at the gap at 141.34. If it breaks that then 135 and the 50 day SMA are the next support levels.
After booking your room now you need your ride. Hertz (ticker:$HTZ) can help out in that department. They rent Jaguar’s now, you know.
HTZ has been in an uptrend since September but appears to be ready to consolidate before its next move. The RSI is leveling at the 70 technically overbought level and the MACD is declining slightly. Support on a pullback can be found at 16.50and then the 50 day SMA. Below that could be the beginning of a reversal. Watch for those support levels or a break above 17.50 for an entry. And don’t forget to stay up the whole trip so that you look like you have been through hell when you return.
