Marriott Beats So Watch These Stocks

Marriott International, $MAR, reported earnings tonight and set the tone for the hotel space. Beating analyst estimates on EPS, and Revenue and guiding higher it is trading up in the after hours market Wednesday. If that sticks it will be a good return for premium members who took the earnings trade, getting long in May options combinations. But there is something there for everyone in this report. Two names in this space, Choice Hotels, $CHH, and Wyndham Worldwide, $WYN, have had bullish charts that could use a catalyst to move them higher. Take a look.
Choice Hotels, $CHH, has been moving sideways in a channel between 36.40 and 38.05 since mid February. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has been moving sideways with a flat Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator. The Bollinger bands have also been squeezing, forecasting a move shortly. The definition of waiting for a catalyst. A break of the channel to the upside triggers a Measured Move to 41. Watch for it.
Wyndham Worldwide, $WYN has a better chart, working in a rising channel, but heading toward the bottom of the range after hitting resistance of the minor trend line from March. It has a bullish RSI and a MACD that is about to cross higher that would support a move higher. A break above that minor trend at 48 leads to a target at the top of the channel at 52.20.
