Looking Ahead: A Series of Longer Term Perspectives

Tonight begins a series of articles looking longer term at the major indexes and macro factors that influence them. These articles as a collection are intended to help frame the potential outcomes of the coming 12 months or so of the global markets. They are not intended to be a forecast per se, but to provide longer term deeper insight based on the current market structure. Each article is complete in itself, but the series together will provide a whole world focus, and as usual they will focus on price action, meaning there will be charts.
Tonight starts the series with a look at the Shanghai Composite and the Emerging market ETF, EEM. Over the rest of the year studies will be added nightly. The rest of the series will cover Crude Oil and Natural Gas, Gold and Silver, US Treasuries via the ETF TLT, the US Dollar Index, and the ETF’s for the major US Indexes QQQQ, IWM and SPY. The schedule below shows the original publishing date and has been updated with links to each article as they were published so that anyone interested in reading the total package over New Years Weekend can have them all in one place. I hope you enjoy them.
